I agree. The iTrader rating should be visible at all time.

Nothing has changed with iTrader... it's always shown only in the Buy/Sell/Trade forums/threads and the user's profile.

You need to think a little more "outside the box" my friend. :)

Yeah, but he had 5 dark green and 3 light green - thats like 800+ points.

Man, how could he give THAT much red?

PLUS - He had several reds at one point.... That would mean he gave like 1200 or more red reps!

Damn fryman - dont you like anything? LOL

    Shawn,

    You know....

I worked really hard to get the two bars and 112 rep points that I had.

I work diligently trying to help out in the part of the forums I hang out in (the sales area) a lot of different ways. When people post about me, if they're an upstanding member, they always say something nice.

And when I see that someone is clearly deserved of a red rep point, I issue one. But now I am penalized for trying to go above and beyond? Doing what I thought the rep system was meant for? Had I known this system would be put in palce, I wouldn't have tried to help out by issuing rep at all.

I have effectively been fined 30 rep points for trying to make your forums a better place. Where is the logic in that?

I urge you to reconsider the retroactive part of it. This may not be an issue for many people, but for someone who believes in these forums and has a genuine and vested interest in keeping them a great place to conduct business (at least the section I am mostly involved in anyway) this just seems asinine.

I obviously don't have the general scope that you do, but I can't imagine how making this retroactive is the best thing.

I know this may sound kind of sad to a lot of you, but once I logged in and saw my rep had gone from 112 to 84 points simply because I was using a system the way it was designed - I was quite literally crushed.

I feel like so much of my time has been stolen from me now. With changes like this, what can we expect in the future? Is it time to think about making a name for myself on some other forum?

I fell so... what are the words. Helpless. Betrayed. Disrespected. Disregarded.

What I don't feel is appreciated for doing (what I feel) was more than my part.

    And as a side note:
I can appreciate that you were hit the hardest, but taking $100 from a millionair won't effect him. Taking $30 from a guy who only has about $100 is just wrong. Especially when he had just done $30 worth of good deeds.

Does it really matter Greg? I mean, I agree with you - but - the rep dont mean anything, so what difference does it really make? Im more suprised Shawn is spending time on this.

To me? Yes. It really does matter. It's a matter of principal. I'm not some bitter jealous webmaster dishing red rep because I can. I really take the system seriously. And because of that - I've been effectively demoted.

So does it really matter? As a matter of principal, absolutely.

I'm surprised this was even an issue that needed tending to myself. Is this a sign that Shawn has too much free time? (<-- not an insult, just trying to lighten my now somber mood)

I see your point because I try not to buy from people with red rep, but since itrader has pretty much entirely replaced green rep for completed transactions, I don't see the new rep system really cahnging the buy, sell, trade.
By the way, I have a question. If the new system brought my rep down 6 points (for example), does that mean I've left 6 reds over the years? Or since my rep is worth 2, does it really mean I've dished out 3 red reps? In other words, do you lose the same rep the other person loses? Or do you lose 1, no matter how many the other person loses?
