Need help about Name Servers

Guys I really need some answers on few questions that has been bothering me lately.

Is it possible that 2 name servers can be use in 2 different servers like for example.

NS1.site.com and NS2.site.com - Server 1 IP: 111.111.111.111
NS1.site.com and NS2.site.com - Server 2 IP: 111.111.111.112

Help is very much appreciated.

No, each NS record has to be on the server the IP is assigned to, for example NS1 is .111 and can't be on any other server that is not hosting .111, DNS is like a directory of IP's where you can find a domain, if you point a domain name to a NS1 everyone will be looking at NS1 to provide the location of the domain, if the NS1 is hosted else where no one would be look at its records even if true.

 

DNS server names need to point to an A record / IP address.

NS1.site.com and NS2.site.com - Server 1 IP: 111.111.111.111

Technically that by itself will work, though you only have one server which is silly.

If you are really cool you can have 111.111.111.111 route to multiple physical servers.

yes, set the first IP to be master and other as slave dns. i assume both servers are not the same.
