WTS my Web Business -- Not a "site"--a real business!

    Hello everyone!

I know DP rarely gets true online businesses posted for sale, but I thought I'd post here first, as I originally announced my site going live on DP forums a year ago!

I'm interested in selling my profitable article rewriting business:
    http://tinyurl.com/5bj854

Now be forewarned, this is an actual business, not a mythical "sit-back-and-collect-fat-checks-while-I-twiddle-my-thumbs" type deal. It does require some effort to run (much less than a real job, but effort nonetheless).

Pics of the last 5 months' revenue are posted below. (June is already at just under $2000).

I'd estimate approximately 60 to 70% of revenue is profit, depending on how much outside help you enlist (I currently have my wife, and a couple of her friends helping me out on an independent contractor basis).

Work mainly entails editing rewrites that have been outsourced (not to India--our writers are mostly well-versed in English, so it's not too bad), and answering the occasional customer question. However, you could probably outsource the editing as well if you're so inclined.

I have done absolutely 0 advertising this year for the site, as most customers are repeat customers, and word-of-mouth referral is common. Also, we were mentioned in a top-selling Clickbank e-book recently, which has caused business to really take off. I do have a nice Adwords keyword list, and some kick-butt ad campaigns, that I can give to the new owner.

I'll be honest--I'm having difficulty keeping up, and that's the main motivation to sell. I'm actually a psychologist in the "real world," and my wife also has a full-time job, so we are pressed for time and resources. If you have the time, this could be a nice stay-at-home full-time job for you.

What you'll get: the main site, it's complementary blog, and training on how to run it (probably from my lovely wife). It's currently hosted and maintained by my business partner, Dave, who in turn receives a small slice of the revenue. You'll have the option to keep this deal, or provide your own hosting and maintenance. Traffic could be considered low, (maybe 500-1000 uniques a month), but as I mentioned, there's been no advertising, and repeat business is strong. Dave will also be brokering the actual sale of this site, as I just don't have the time to answer phone calls and e-mails all day long. When you contact me with interest, I'll provide you his contact details, and he'll be able to explain in great detail all the "secret" inner-workings of the business.

So what's it worth? :) Given the standard valuation of 10x average monthly revenue, I'd say $30,000 is a fair price. I've seen worse go for much more.

Please, only contact me if you're a serious buyer. I can't keep up with DP PMs, so please e-mail me at: paulpullen (at) gmail.com and include a relevant subject line if you're interested.

Thanks, and look forward to hearing from you,
    Paul

...I'd like your input, as well (other than Sitepoint, that is).

    Thanks,
    Paul

You might try bizbuysell.com as well. Those thumbnails don't work by the way.

For some reason, the pics I attached to my original message are not working. Attached is a zip file of the screenshots.

    Thanks 47 for the info.

    --Paul

EDITED: OK, maybe not. I'm not sure what's going on, but I can't seem to attach a working file. Is anyone else having trouble viewing attachments on other posts? I'm unable to view screenshots on other posts as well. I'd be happy to e-mail the screenshots to anyone who requests!

Anyway, here's the revenue per month for 2008:

    Jan -- 2403.85
    Feb -- 3102.57
    Mar -- 1395.55
    Apr -- 2881.77
    May -- 5794.20
    Jun (as of the 10th) -- 1872.78

    Sorry for the confusion.

Attachment's are not working in general, it is a problem with the forum not the way he did it, just for an update.
