Do you sell websites on DP?

I tried selling a couple in here and had absolutely no success with it so I stopped. Seems like most people want something they can buy for $5. And I don't particularly care for the "post here for the URL" crap either as a means to keep the thread on the first page. Although I can understand there may be legitimate reasons for not wanting to list a URL at times.
I suppose your site can get in front of a lot of people in here but the listing doesn't stay on the first page very long. I sell all mine on ebay now and have had much more success. What have your experiences been like?

I've always used Ebay, I've found that there are less experienced people there who will sometimes bid higher amounts even for domains that are not worth it. Might give here a try though, as it couldn't hurt.

There are people willing to buy from whatever topic you have, but I would suggest sitepoint for bigger and serious offers.

I have sold sites on DP forums in the past however i do feel that DP works primarily for selling sites in the $00 - $000's region. If you are wanting to sell sites in the $0000's region i would suggest you try sitepoint marketplace however you do have to pay for a advertisment there.

Yeah, try sitepoint.com. The folks there have more money to invest, and because you have to pay to get listed, it adds some quality to the marketplace.

I used to sell on SitePoint, then switched to DP for the most part once SP started charging $20 to list a site. SP is still the best for larger sales, but for little sites DP is nice.

SitePoint also attracts more serious buyers with the auction system, whereas DP is almost totally unregulated (except for the iTrader system, which is great.)

We're not allowed to say 'post here for the url' anymore :)

I've sold a site once successfully, and for the other one the bidder never responded. If I expect to get $100 for a site, I end up getting only a quarter that amount ;)

So I prefer to keep my sites, unless I really don't need them anymore.

Well... I sell sites here.. Technically I put them up for sale. But no one buys them. I find better luck at NP :D
