What would be the title within a small/mid size business for someone who manages search engine marketing ($1 million per year Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, etc), search engine optimization strategy, and deals with outside services supporting organic and paid search. I am looking for real titles in the current US marketplace. Humorous titles are welcome but please provide valid titles along with the humor.
"Someone willing to do boring gruntwork all day, hoping it will pay off before you have to fire people because he wasted money better invested in a decent offline campaign."
How about these titles? SEM Business Development Manager Online Advertising Manager / Search Advertising Manager Search Engine Marketing Manager/ SEM Manager
I can only aspire to be a funkymario. Specialist generally mean low pay (unless you are a doctor). I was with you until the offline campaign part, I've seen tons of money waisted offline with no measurable return. I like them. I spent many a year with engineer as a title and it always garnered some respect and just enough pay so I could afford to go back to work the next day.
