    Hello!
I wonder if there are any business opportunities for reverse engineers (computer software) .

Those people have good knowledge in assembly and code reversing .. is there any business ideas that apply to them legally ?

    TIA!
    :)

As soon as you grow big you gonna be dipped in tons of lawsuit:) But if you can earn enough money before that, that would not be bad:)

Exactly. There are some softwares also available for doing this; but those always produce codes that have bugs; which you have to find and fix.

Personally, the only LEGAL way of making any money out of it I can see is my writing content about how to do it. This could be especially profitable since I doubt there is much content on the subject as of now.

Just place some ads on the content, do some backlink building, and you're set!

(Although don't use Google Ads, they might not allow such a subject- email them and ask if you're seriously considering this option.)

    Good luck ala101!

    No Its not Legal

It depends, the process is normally patented or protected by copy right but not the product, so there is a legal way to reverse engineer. I can't say for software, but when I was doing R & D, our products, hardware design and firmware were reverse engineered usually within 6 months of their launch by Taiwan and Chinese companies who then built similar products at much cheaper prices.

I think it can be done legally, but you may need to explore the legal aspects with those that are well versed in IP laws.

The blog will be new, at least I haven't seen one on such topics, as long as it is new and with good content, it will definitely be popular and can be monetize.

I don't think anything regrading to this would be legal, because u r cracking a software & probably software companies write in their Dislamiare DO not use it on more than 1 PC OR Do NOT Distribute Your COPY

Reverse engineering is perfectly legal and is covered in the DMCA. I don't know where anyone is getting any other information.

What may stifle that is the patents on the methods used for the original implementation. Software patents are crap, but legally they hold weight.

If reverse engineering was illegal, projects such as SAMBA and WINE wouldn't exist.

OK we can say its legal in some manner (like -> adding new features to a software), But if you do reverse engineering just to expend the limitation of a Software, I will consider it as illegal...

For Example: reverse engineering a software to Bypass 30 Day Trial.

That's not reverse engineering. That's cracking.

Reverse engineering is being given a black box and by giving inputs and seeing how those inputs are then output, you make a system that is exactly the same.

You need to research to find possible source code for the software you want to develop through this and also identify the potential patent infringement and legal complication if any.

You may want to share with us more information on the legality aspects?
    Appreciate that.
