phpproxy is very old and nor more new features or support will be given.

If you are new to the proxy business, try glype.com.

Has anyone been continuing the work? Updating or adding plugins to phproxy? Any sites in particular?

I would say phpproxy is the best one and most of other versions are based on it!

For now I think glype is the best because it has built-in mods + youtube mods that you can find in glype forums.
    Good luck

CGIproxy is the best script if you can afford to host it (dedicated server). Glype would be the next one down the line.

My thought on this question is a lot like asking people which is better chevy or ford, nissan or toyota you will get varied answers.

As for the best script the best script is going to be the one that will give the features you are looking for and the one you would be comfortable editing and working with along with being able to afford the server requirements for the script.

Glype is , imo, simply better than PHPProxy. It has more features, I think it has lower BW use and the script gets updates.

Alright thanks everyone. I am new to proxies but plan on making a few sites that I will maintain. I think I will try glype out and see how it goes.

I will probably buy some .info domains and godaddy since they are the cheapest out there. Is that good idea?

I notice on some of your sites you have keywords and others don't. And on the ones with keywords they are going to get the site blocked at most places. So are the ones with keywords for like home use I am guessing?

It is a good idea to register domains at Godaddy and yes using .info domains is good too, however your timing is not the best due to summer coming close.

However if you feel you can still make it through the summer season then go for it, it will give you some time to get familiar with the techniques around proxy sites.

Download my free eBook to if you would like (see signature).

Yeah the glype script looks nice. I was going to buy the .info domains with godaddy and the whois protections since it isn't included with them like other sites are.

I can make it through summer since I plan on advertising it well and keeping it around for awhile.

I will check out your ebook in a bit. Thanks

I just tested phpproxy and I like how easy it was to set up. Maybe there are better scripts but it's good enough for what will use it for.
