With many social websites after web 2.0, are SEOs technique still important ? Members search on social websites more often than on Search Engine because of uncensored content. Even with web 3.0 advent maybe search engine wont be exist anymore in this 3D environment.

I look for and found more techniques about social websites of Web 2.0 here like stumble, digg, delicious etc. SEO are useless and boring with very weak result (de facto).

seo will remain important even though web2.0 sites here are some reason
    - People can enlist their sites in social media websites manually where as result given by search engines are very effective with compare to those social sites. thats mean people will keep watching search result for more accurate and effective result.
    - Any one can list their sites on top list in social media sites if they do some little effort (like ask other people to give votes etc) where as search engine list sites according to best developed algorithms.

there are many more reason people will preferred search engines result. and seo will provide guidance and strategies to follow search engines guidelines with best visibility.

conclusion is : SEO will be there

Do you mean that with the advent of newer technologies the Search Engines would come back to their Nascent self. You are absolutely wrong. You will get a boost in traffics from social networks in coming years but you won't be counting out search engines and SEO.

Web what point what? Sorry, but as long as there are search engines and people who use them search engine optimization will still be around. And don't let the trend of switching from table-based layouts to semantic markup fool you either, because search friendly Web sites != search engine optimized sites. As one person I know loves to say, there's a lot more to optimizing a Web site for the search engines than just writing good code.

Think about your question for a second. How do users find web 2 sites to begin with?

I am have opposite opinions but the more convincing would be:

As things evolve, they get complicated and so more expertise is needed to handle the matter. This means that future would require SEO 'professionals', it may not be enough to read some online tutorials and optimizing meta description or title tags.

As long as people use search engines to search for information, SEOs will be there.

I also disagree with the fact that people in large numbers are now using social websites for their information needs than search engines, simply because for most part social networking sites can not provide the sheer quality and quantity of information that is freely available on the internet.

Aren't forum included in web2.0 (social websites) and recently people search on forums for specific content which could not be found on ordinary search engine.
