This is one of the areas of on-page optimisation that I don't know about. I run a forum and want to know where I write my H1 tags and what to put in them. Totally confused on this area, thanks in advance for all your help. P.s My forum is vBulletin.
h1 should be on each PAGE ideally h1 has the same content as <title> BOTH are of greatest onpage SEO importance in a forum the subject of a post could be turned into h1/<title ( thats how i solve it in my forums - that works fine for G SEO/serps for me )
you have vbulletin I have different forum SW - hence your situation different from mine. you'll have to look and study into vbulletin and most likely you do your optimization with your template. but in your current situation I would rather look to get traffic. so far your traffic seems NIL .... on your poker forum.
You have to be careful with the optimization of your templates as google may see it as spam. I had a forum (later on I sold it) in V bulletin that I optimized the templates for the main keywords that I wanted. It dropped on the Serps almost right after. As soon I removed the template optimizations, it came back up.
Here is code from one of my sites that should help. <H1>Welcome to <B>Your Fresh Start</B><BR>House & Office Cleaning Service of Tucson AZ</H1><br> Hope this helps.
Unfortunately it won't help, and it reeks of the same garbage that's used to manipulate the search engines. The H1 heading is used as the top-most heading on the page and is often reflective of the current page's title. A good example that will pass a human review by the good folks at Google would be something like this: <h1>Ten Common Marketing Mistakes Every Internet Marketer Makes (Without Even Realizing It)</h1> Code (markup):
Your very welcome. Everything that I have ever read on authority SEO sites says that this is a very useful tool. How useful I don't know, but I figure if they industry leaders say its good practice then it most likely is. Good luck.
