I want to ask the person I bought a site from to install it for me on my cpanel, but I don't know how to give access to the cpanel only for that particular domain. If I give access, I'll be giving access to all my sites. Does anyone know how I can give access to just one domain's cpanel?
Just give them an FTP account on the domain and lock it in that directory. If they need a database created just do it for them
Oh no That explains it! Thank you Cypriot, I think that's what I'll do. I can create an FTP account, but I'm not sure how they will be able to access this FTP account. Will they do it by going to http://ftp.mydomain.com ? And how can I lock it in that directory? Thanks. rep added
Thank you GnBz but I already know how to set up an FTP account - I'm trying to find out what I have to do after opening the account.
giving only ftp access makes installation difficult to that guy if it involves db operations how he can import db by only ftp
I could just install the database for him and then he can upload the rest. It's a real pain having to upload large files to my server, and sometimes I get a ton of errors so I really want to be able to give access somehow.
then create one db , user name , pass and give to him along with ftp and u can import db via phpmyadmin later u can change in config files thats better
