Host 40 blogs on my own network or spread them out

I've heard some rumors that Google will devalue sites that are similar and hosted on the same IP range. I have dozens of domain names and our own servers. I want to know if I should spread these domains out over various other servers like godaddy, hostgator, etc or go even further and purchase an SEO hosting package which spreads domains across several C Class IP ranges.

I want to build value for these domains over time by adding daily unique and targeted content but similar content and links will appear on all the sites.

    Thanks.

Unless its a spam network, or VERY similar content / layout don't worry about the IP range. I have 500 sites on one cluster and have had no issues for the past 3 years.

Yeup, Unless content are duplicated or so then it would be devalue.

    Otherwise no problem.

Also make sure not to do too much interlinking between all of your sites that are on the same IP.
