Pending Links Resubmitting

Discussion in 'Directories' started by Dee2007, Jun 5, 2008.

Hi, with all the directories out there is it inevitable (unless you are extremely organised) that you will submit to the same directories more than once. I know that if the domain is already listed then it will tell you, but what if it is still pending and you resubmit, will they ban the domain?

    Thanks

    Dee

for phpLD, once the link is in pending or approved, you will get an error when trying to resubmit. If rejected & banned you cannot resubmit. If only rejected you can resubmit again.

    Good OP Dee :)
    Thanks

Tricky question who knows they may or may not
imho we keep a track of submissions-of course like you-some will not be recorded too, that is pretty inevitable
But one answer if you do know its a re-submit---then personally we would not re-submit---as it is likely to be a waste of time
    And time costs money

    Will they ban the domain
    Who cares
Thanks again for the good OP

remember on thing from my own experience : even if paid or free direcotri, submit, submit, submit, submit, submit, submit, even if you got rejected. Sooner or late the link you submit will be included in that directory because the owner will be pissed off by the traffic you make to his server ! So the numer one rulement : submit even if you are rejected, even if paid or free.

This is how my brother got listing in some major directories!
I will tell you more secrets in the future, but for now, start practicing what i am saying here and start doing your succes tracks !

And that is why 'my Brother' we built in a system to prevent spammers like you. submit submit submit = spam.

With an attitude like yours I don't think it will take long for your name to get circulated as a spammer. Try and rethink your strategy or at least don't boast about it.

if the webmaster enable the "Allow multiple submit" function,
you can resubmit to different category what ever the site already has been listed.

it doesn't matter how much traffic it is if its not a good site it don't get submitted I have had people who used to continually submit their sites right after a rejection and they are not in my directory yet:p

I wonder if adsenseindia and SEO2Indians are working for the same company. I would love to know the name of that company and will keep my distance from it :)

It's because of people like these I see many directories now have a geo-filter for Indian IPs :)

A directory can't ban any domain. Only its server can block special IPs.

What prevents a directory from banning a domain? I am sure there are multiple mods for all popular directory scripts that will let the directory editors ban a domain. Not to forget many directory owners have their custom scripts :)

Yes they can, it depends if they have a small script in place to do so, you don't need to touch your server.

What is there to stop a directory from banning a domain? Some simple validation on the submission form is all it would take.

As for the orginal question, I'm an editor on a couple of manually edited directories, whilst duplicate submission is discouraged it won't normally get you a ban unless it's obvious spamming.

You evidently dont know and dont have much experience as if its rejected theirs usually a reason behind it.
Submit submit submit then the domain gets banned as SPAM! ASAP :D

    thx

It varies a little between scripts. On Dmoz if you resubmit whilst in pending your submission goes to the back of the pending list, apparently. Some directories will tell you your domain is already submitted, even if it's still awaiting approval.

Wrong. A directory script can ban on all sorts of variables.

I have ignored the person but thanks for the quoting system I still get to see the 'gems of wisdom' he is spilling in the forum.

My best advice to directory submitters is get a bit more organized and track their submissions. *self promotion* I faced this problem and developed a free tool for everyone. http://managedirectorysubmissions.fastreviews.org/ :)
