I want him to be president even tho i live in the uk an it doesnt effect me either way. but lookin through history the us would never of had a black president. the us was a very racsist country yes.... I mean they wouldnt even allow there to be a black heavy wieght boxxing champ in jack jonnson years ago, Didnt he have to win the title in germany? They all were lookin for the great white hope but none could beat him lol! (90% of all the best boxxers in the world are black)
How times have changed which is a good thing as i hate racsist! white, yellow, brown, black green with yellow spots i dont care (we all pink inside lol) come on obamma!!!!!!!!!!:D

If a person wants to vote for Obama they should do it on based on the platform and not skin color.

LOL what a clown. You just made a thread saying you hope Obama is the next president simply because he's black, but at the same time "colour" doesn't mean anything?

So which is it, are you racist in favor of blacks or will you deny the fact that you made this thread?

I thought the US was beyond judging someone by the color of their skin.

Anyway, the US has already had many biracial people excel. Obama really isn't a first for anything.

Booker T. Washington and Frederick Douglass both had white fathers.

Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan both had white grandparents.

Well now the race is between a white and a war hero versus a black and inexperienced agent for change. This will be an interesting fight. May the Best Man wins and not because of his skin color.

The President isn't going to make too much of a change when people are electing the same 'pork barrel' congress.

When Reagan was President, he took the issues to the people, but of course he was extremely popular then. If Obama achieve popularity and charisma, Congress may find it hard to reject Obama's policy changes.

Is Obama black? He looks kind of caramel colored to me but my TV is pretty shoddy.

I don't know about that, our last President dragged you guys into a war. And our next might try to do that again if his name is John McCain.

Not to mention the fact that the US economy has a great effect on the rest of the world.

I agree with you that Barack Obama needs to win in 2008, but I disagree on why. The black thing is great on a symbolic level but I'm much more concerned about the actual issues and about getting this country back on track. Bush has done a lot to hurt this country in the last 8 years and I believe he's also in turn hurt the world greatly (obviously in Iraq for starters.)
