Hello, Im thinking of getting vbulletin for my current forums, but i havea few questions, are there alot of ad ons, and how much do they cost, or are they free? Everything i have got on smf is free including the software, which is great. and i have installed all the free mods as follows... 1. Arcade Mod 2. Profile Mod to look like myspace 3 Affliate Mod 4. Global headers and footers mod 5. Moderator reports 6. Fade screen around images on click 7. A virtual shop, with virtual items 8. A good gallery. 9. Who's online devision between users and spiders. 10. Custom board icons 11. Video mod to look like youtube 12. Polls I want to know should i stick with smf? Its good but its just a bit messy if you get me. Or so with vb? And what the costs of the above mods are? cheers.
If you are tight in budget, stay with SMF.. If you looking to give your forumer the best platform,go for VB
VB mods are free from Vbulletin.org. Same with themes but there are some paid for themes. I highly reccomend VB over SMF
I don't recommend smf. SE spiders hate session id and the board will not rank well. Bad serp = no traffic = no money.
There are seo mods for smf that will fix the SID's I also suggest vbulletin,, it's more professional compared to smf, but smf is good to start with if money is a factor. You can find the pricing for vB at www.vbulletin.com cheers
vBulletin is absolutely the way to go. Better support, more mods, better skins, plus just better forum software overall.
vBulletin is by far the superior forum software. Most mods and themes are available or free at vBulletin.org and it easily has the largest support community of any forum suite.
