$200 of Digg, nice , i find it a wasteof time trying to get on there as most of the ppl will flame ur post as much as they can :S headache.

I'm currently very much in the same boat as you with roughly the same amount of traffic and earnings. I've played around with ad placement and think I've pretty much achieved what I can in that regards.

Hopefully, a few of the things that I have in the pipeline will bring me a deluge of visitors within the next month and beyond.

yeah now its traffic time. i'm doing my best to get incoming links and traffic.
once the case settles or goes to trial, about my wow guide, it'll get a load of traffic. it got so much on the weekend it was released that the complaint was filed as seen in the news link in my sig. So that's some free advertising. I also lucked out with that as a supporter of my case runs a webdesign and host company and is hosting and redesigning my site for free.

thanks, i made like 60 by apr 7th so thats a good 240 this month if it stays the same.

 

Best of luck . Adsense isnt predicable though hope for the best.

 

yeah it seems to be going down some, same amount of impressions a day but the amount has gone down a few bucks. now more near the $3-5 dollar range but still goes up.

actually i take that back, normal amount of clicks today and made 10.10 bring this months total to 92.46

 

do you need to submit to alot of directories to achieve those kind of results?

there are a whole list of directories out there, but i would like to know if its the way to go?

 

I can't surely say yes on this, I did submit to like 40 directories. As far as I know this really creates incoming links to your site and i'm sure some people find the site this way but it's not a way to get a lot of traffic.

A lot of my traffic seems to come from the search engine. if i look at my sites stats of incoming links it shows a lot of google searches.

 

how do i solve this problem of Search Engine traffic, or the lack thereof?

 

Can't really say for sure except find a niche. Mine was world of warcraft. People search for all kinds of stuff that i offer in my guide so it pulls that all up in search engines.

it better be something people like. LOTS of people there are huge dickweeds. They'll say you're just spamming and if you post too many links to pages on your site they say you're spamming too. Luckily my first post was one that people liked about study habbits.

Other than that digg can give you so much traffic and good adsense money, plus sales if you're selling something.

Like I said I got 200 that day from digg, when my suit went public that it was filed it was put on digg, there wasn't a direct link in the story but someone found it and posted it in the comments and I made about 5,000 in 4 days from my guide alone. But there was also other news stories that people had the link on too but digg helped it quite a bit.

Now today so far i've made $8.16 and yesterday I made over my $10 that I usually top near with $15.42 and that brings this months total already over $100 to $105.95. It's great It took me since october to March to reach over my $100 limit now my 2nd month in a row I reached my $100 limit to get paid.

Oddly I get more ppc from my wow site than the about it world site. But I guess that's just the high priced key words.

 

you are totally right about this BUT

how many of us do this at least partly out of hobby? (thats a rhetorical question - since i'll bet its most of us)

..so, although its not "free money", what other hobby lets you earn some money at the same time? I say horray for adsense - now i don't feel so bad for "wasting" hours per day at my computer on some hobby!

 

Another hobby would be painting, you can make money by selling paintings or painting on other people's stuffs. But AdSense is really a nice thing, when you are a webmaster it adds relevant content to every pages and it doesn't look like ads if you blend them. I can remember how looked the web ads before AdSense came out, the main thing was graphical 468x60 banners.

 

so far i've made $180.93 this month and since I changed my layout I actually quadrupled my ctr and clicks but it's still only making about $10 a day, I guess the different ad types give different amounts. I was using a single half banner now im using a large square.

I also just got my first payment today of like $290 and again I'm happy I passed the payment mark 2 months in a row after having it up for over 6 months.
