Wordpress spam!!! help please

    Hi guys,

    Does anyone have a good plugin that stops spam like this:


    Just random crap -- then a link in the title:

    Great free videos


    It's driving me nuts!

    Nothing i have tried has stopped it. Each day i have to delete 3/4 pages of spam comments.

    My site has been banned by google because of it! I have just had to put in a reinclusion request.

    Any help here would be great.

    With Akismet I have all my spams stopped, I think you have not activated it yet. :D

    yeah, wordpress spam is a common thing, but Akismet rocks :)- it can stop most of them and is widely used.

    Dont know why pople go around searching the whole world when Akismet usually comes default in almost every version of wordpress.

    Or else use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-spamfree/

    Only allow signed up users to comment.

    Youll be toatally free from spam

    Yes, i have akismet turned on -- its not stopping these type comments that i mentioned. It is stopping a lot of stuff, but not these.

    My Akismet has stopped over 345,000 spams in 1.5 years. My niche is in drug addiction recovery, so the online drug stores come after me in droves.

    Akismet works very well. But 1 spam is not stopped.

    I have been using Aksimet on my WordPress blogs and it has been effective. So far it has stopped 1,861 spam comments from being posted on my main blog.

    Aksimet does the job very well. There are also some other plugins out there (check the WP Plugins site), but as I said, Aksimet does the job. You haven't activated it probably.

    In addition, like others have suggested, try using a captcha of some sort. This, in addition to Akismet, does wonders.
