I have been pinging my blog and no traffic has been generated as of yet. I just started my blog how long does it take to get traffic from pings? Also what are some other fast ways of generating traffic?
How long does it take for the traffic to start? I ping everyday automatically when I post a new post. I also add keywords into the images and the post titles.
I experienced the same thing with very little results. At that time Google provided 45% of our website traffic. Then we started submitting to Digg, Reddit, Sphinn, and Stumble and traffic has quadrupled! Now Google sends us about 18% of our traffic. Using some good linkbait will also help, but above all you have to have something worth reading for visitors to return and share your blog with others. The most important thing here is a catchy title. However, make sure the title matches the content. Yesterday, I read an article "Social Media Road Map" or something like that. It ended up being a Twittter article.
One method you should try is go to Alexa.com find some high PR sites from your domain. Register and do some post campaigns. And don’t force your blog to the limit because it can end up being dead. Here is a article I recently posted on my blog hope it helps you Learning from the past to prevent the future 'First of all I don’t have a bunch of people reading this blog because it is new in the blogging business. But I am satisfied for now on how things go. As some bloggers might know there is one thing that scares us every day. The thought of my blog dieng hunts me every day. There are a lot of people out there better than me with far more experience than me but I am doing the best I can to beat them and to bring original content. I had my share of mistakes but I learned from them and I’m doing the best to improve myself. So yes it is true, your blog can die even if you worked hard into it just because there are better sites out there. You need to find a "steady stream of water" and with luck and dedication that stream can turn into a river. Ok let’s analyze the things that can kill your blog. Too many ads can kill your website because if the ads at some point are more than the posts you got a serious problem. People come to a blog to find answers for their problems and not use a GPS to find your content throw all the ads. It is important to interact with your readers because if you search a little, all the major blogs have the ability to post comments, read comments. If you don’t answer their questions you are doomed to talk with yourself. The internet is full of people that like to make fun and ruin other peoples work. They enjoy ruining your work, so just ignore these people don’t pick a fight with these people because it is bad for your blog. If at some point your blog lacks fresh articles people will stop visiting your website and your blog will die. If you post too many articles you are going to eventually run out of stuff to post and you will lack fresh articles. Also readers will have a hard time keeping up with your articles and eventually leave. Try and find that balance between posting new articles and updating old ones that are obsolete Do not equip your site with all those fancy graphics because it will burn the reader’s bandwidth and the site will run slow. Try and focus on your content more than the blog/website look. And no one likes a donkey site. For example there are game websites that have a flash animation that has to load first before you can access the actual website. You have to wait all day till it loads at 100%, I eventually get mad, close the site and look for another one.' I hope it helps you in some way. Just keep your hopes up, never give up and wait for that river because if you provide quality content it will eventually come.
You need to keep up the posting effort continuously for 3 months until your site is out of the Google Sandbox to start getting a lot of traffic from Google. Meanwhile, you can start building links with relevant keywords for your site.
I would be recommend against this method. In recent years, this has become a popular mode of link-building, although Google frowns upon it (and in a recent Page Rank update, has punished various websites for participating). So proceed with caution, but know that many people use this option. You just have to search for “paid text links†to find a slew of services and information. (There are exceptions to this rule: sites like Best of the Web and Yahoo provide paid listing/reviews that actually do help you in SEO.) Google has made it very clear that the buying and selling links that pass link juice is a forbidden practice and they are actively enforcing this issue.
Digg is a highly trafficked website. You submit your blog post which can be voted on. If your post gets onto the top page your site will likely crash because of the surge in traffic volume. This group doesn't convert very well, but you can gain lots of links.
