What are the best marketing methods that won't diminish your bank account?

It depends on your audience. In many cases, the most cost-effective are not, unfortunately, the least expensive.

If you're promoting a fashion line, you could be very cost-effective by reaching out with personal emails to fashion bloggers, who are just as interested to hear about you as you are to talk to them. Some of them might just blog about you.

But if you're selling a new kind of screwdriver, it's unlikely to be blogged about, and you'd benefit much more from creating an optimized sales landing page, running an adword campaign, and possibly connecting with affiliates.

So really, "it depends" is the best answer here.

But I think it's also important to remember that nothing is free, not even posting here. If it takes you an hour to write to 5 bloggers, it may have cost you $0 from your bank account, but it did cost you an hour of lost wages. Sometimes the most cost-effective way to market requires cash.

Whatever marketing method that is most likely to earn enough profit to at least break even with your initial costs is worth using. Since everyone's niche and site is different, that's how I look at things. For example, I bombed out using PPC, but doing private advertising deals on certain sites worked like magic for me. However, I would never discourage anyone from using Adwords/PPC to advertise, and I wouldn't necessarily say that private advertising is universally superior to PPC. It's just different for most people.

I think some of the best methods would be press releases (free or paid), article writing, forum posting, guest blogger for your niche on other peoples blogs, list building, newsletter. There are many ways to get the word out for little to no money. My suggestions would be search for where you want to be found in search engines and look at what they are doing, or how those sites could help you and vice versa.

Whichever method you choose, make sure you keep the customer in mind - you want to retain your customers, try not burn through money and then figure out that those customers are gone as well.

I've created a marketing method that is the perfect start to anyone who has to ask 'how can I market without fearing the cost?"

My marketing method puts money in YOUR pocket, not the other way around - it is quite powerful. I can't go into too much detail here, but if you happen across my site link, know that your answer is there - irregardless of your niche - with no regard for the type of audience, this works for everything, everywhere, without breaking any rules.

Cheers, good luck, and the msot important thing is to take action. You can pay to market, market for free (use time), or get paid the whole time (my method/20 minutes a day).

Your best method really depends as others have said on your market. It also depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Once you have defined what you wish to accomplish then you can begin to determine how to accomplish your goal... Wish you the best!

There is no exact right or wrong answer to your question.. You need to figure out what you are marketing and find your nich. What are you selling? Who are your buyers? Think like your buyer.. Where would you go, what keywords would you type in your browser to find the product/s &/or info you are selling? PPC, Craigslist, BackPage, Kijiji, Google Base, High page view blogs, email harvesting for newsletters. Newspaper ads online linking to your website, heck I have even purchase a ebay classified ad and linked to my website and got tons of traffic & also provided a link back to ebay on the same page (linking back with my ebay affiliate link of course!LOL)

rabnesslp, you can start by creating your signature under your name with hyperlinks to your website, I know I would have clicked on it, if you had one, just to see what your nich is..

I've never gotten much traffic from either of these 2. I have found the ROI to be not so good with these. A side effect from this is my inbox is always full with email that originated at these sites that and they are full of spam. I guess it pays to be more selective of groups and friends.

Of course spam is the down side of any online marketing effort.
