I don't know that Ron Paul had much support among veterans, or Americans in general. I think he had about 2% support total, let's be generous and say 25% of that population are veterans. That would mean he received .5% of his support from veterans. Not a big fan base, but I did like some of his ideas.
Whatever his support, he still lead in donations from veterans. But you're mixing apples and oranges. Do you want someone popular, or someone with the best ideas and most integrity? Because the most popular person is not necessarily the best, and likewise.
What voting thing? Does a vote for a lesser candidate who will probably win, that you aren't crazy about, actually have any value? It's like eating because someone put food in front of you, not because you're hungry or because it looks or smells good. It's pointless. Sorry, if I understand you correctly, voting to vote, is more important than voting for what you truly care about and believe in. I can't accept that perspective. It's better not to vote, than to vote for Warmonger B or C.

1. Who cares? The vast majority wanted war with Iraq. Paul didn't think it was a good idea. And I didn't think it was a good idea. 2. How do you know that? The pillar of Ron Paul's campaign is monetary policy. I think, despite an enormous amount of missionary work (that I am willing to admit I may be useless at for various reasons), we'd be lucky if 5 Ron Paul supporters in this forum have a clue how fractional reserve banking works. That's the Ron Paul supporters, not the people who have written him off. And I'm willing to bet a few of the 5 are foreigners. Now in my opinion, fractional reserve banking is probably the greatest long term evil facing humanity today. Bigger than peak oil, war, AIDs or global warming. But no one understands it. You're probably not even curious about it. So yeah, superficially, there may be some rejection. But that's all it is, superficial, not people even remotely acting in their rational self interest. 3. Zibblu is a good example. I think his first choices were Gravel and Kucinich, then Paul and then Obama. He's supporting Obama now, because Paul's campaign is mostly over, and Gravel and Kucinich could never get off the ground. Some of the "rejection" you cite, has a lot to do with whether a person was considered electable, or even available when it was a certain state's opportunity to vote. Idaho was just the other day. McCain got 70%. Paul 24%. Everyone else, 6%. Does this mean that Romney, Huckabee (guys who won states) were rejected? Or no one voted for them because they were no longer in? How amazing is it that Paul pulls 24%, when he is basically out and everyone knows it? Or that he's having sold out book signing events, and speaking to 1000, 1500 people at speaking events, when McCain has to move his fund raisers with the President, into private residences because no one wants to show up or give him money? So whatever I guess. You should find out how fractional reserve banking works, and how it is being used against you everyday, because it's in your rational self interest to know why people are stealing from you, and how. Or whatever.
