Niche Directory Charging $500

I stumbled upon this niche directory. It looks like an awesome resource for the niche. The price for "featured" submission almost seemed like a joke, but upon further look it seems like a quality site. If they are getting submissions for those prices - more power to them. Just shows you what a bit of hard work in the niches can do.

 

why not ?
A quality niche directory could deliver much more quality relevant traffic than a general one. Altough the price is sooo high .. your investment could be a long term one...that would probably worth.

But anyway..at that price you need to double check the quality of the directory:

• check the traffic
• check the other sites that are listed
• check the domain age
• try to see what others who submitted say about the directory
• try to find who the owner is...this could help a lot ( PS: I don't want to make any rasist comment here, but I some are very hunger...nah...nevermind... )
• check for the pagerank and backlinks
• and so on...

 

lol but by the link it doesnt woth that much.

and never seen much high price even in yahoo directory

 

Niche directory I have seen all have pricing according to their niche and standards. The price seems too high though, but non of my business. Good luck to the owner and the submitters.

 

If your submitting customers are regularly "taking hits from da bong" then they will be none the wiser.

IMO $500 too costly, but I guess drugs are not cheap. lol

Interesting niche, and yes they are getting traffic so its worth is best determined by the submitter.

I assume these are the stats of the directory in question - out of interest how do you know the traffic levels, or is this just another weak prediction like Alexa rank? Not bein' an asshole and picking faults, just generally interested in how you know this.

 

Oh, I am so in the wrong niches. lol

There's another site coming up as an authority in Google that looks like it's pulling from phonebooks or something as it is fairly complete - at least it would seem to be because it included the little place in our town.

And no, I don't partake, just have to pass the place on the way home from most anywhere.

 

We can always count on Spidey for using his senses. Roam around the site a bit and see that people are participating in the forums, etc... I don't think that he was ranking the traffic like Alexa does, but you can tell that it's an active resource.

 

I think it's some joke. You get the featured link at $500, while the regular one is free.

 

Shame the owner can't invest a listing fee or two on a decent template..the graphical issues are atrocious for a directory charging that amount

 

I kinda like it considering the directory isnt the main part of the site. Although, your comment made me lol.

 

I see a major problem with the pricing structure. Who would pay $500.00 when you can submit for free? sure you would be featured at the top of the listings but for the price its not worth being a few listings higher.

They should charge something like $300.00-$400.00 Regular submission $500.00 featured.

Without knowing their traffic volumes or taking a detailed look at their SE results its difficult to tell. If they are tearing up trees and ranking big for major terms in the niche then it would be well worth a link (if your covering that niche)

 

When I looked, they were in the top 5 for hookah bars. Only problem is #1 & 2 is for their competitor that has been given authority status.

 

Wow, that is pricey but I guess it leads to greater revenue, then could be worth it.
