    You will need more than one blog for it to be effective though.

    what exactly are you trying to do? send rpc pings saying your blog is updated?

    Wordpress does it automatically for you. You can add different ping site's urls to automatically ping after a new post. There is already one site (pingomatic maybe?, I don't feel like looking) in there I think. This is done in your control panel in Wordpress.

    blog and ping is still work just becareful with your pinging. it could cause your blog to be deindexed due to spam reason.
