Anyone can bring some passages in the bible and use them to justify anything that they want in their own sick way. Imagine have a book on atheism, that too can me misinterpreted to serve a persons selfish needs. When man lives by his own laws he can create any law he wants and can lable anything as good and anything as bad as he sees fit.
Yup, that is not only true for the bible but true for so many things. In the end, man does have to live by his own laws or laws that he has been told were written by someone else, whether it be a God, dictator, or otherwise.
Some word of god that is then.. There isn't an atheism doctrine though, This is the point i am continuously making. A book on atheism would have no more authority than fly fishing by JR Hartley. Religious books have authority, It's supposed to be written by god for fuck sake, It is capable of divine justification, A book about atheism, by definition, Is not. Now, For the fourth time. why should instances of nonviolence be newsworthy? Is it only religious people who deserve to be labeled "tolerant" when they don't start rioting?
Is it only religious people who deserve to be labeled "violent" or "non-tolerant" when they do start rioting? How about riots/wars over football and soccer games? I bet it has nothing to do with religion at all. It takes only one person to turn a peacefull rally into bloody riot. Regarding news worthiness, anything spicy which can create some sort of buzz will get covered by the media. This issue got covered to counter the on going ivestigation in Iraq of US soliders doing target practice on Quran. Just to proof that its a not a big deal for us if someone shoot/burn/torn bible apart, so why you making an issue of target practicing on Quran. If you have better explaination, let me know.
of course not only religious people deserve to be labeled violent. everybody who acts in a violent way deserves to be labeled violent. that was the most facile attempt at avoiding a question i have ever seen. for the fifth time, why should instances of nonviolence be newsworthy? Is it only religious people who deserve to be labeled "tolerant" when they don't start rioting?
Ever thought that there might be a divine law of love out there? Or do they think of only blinking away into sand?
sixth time now..... why should instances of nonviolence be newsworthy? Is it only religious people who deserve to be labeled "tolerant" when they don't start rioting? Are violent responses to offence such an intrinsic part of religion that when it doesn't occur we feel compelled to report it on the news?
