They will propell the tech section tomorrow for sure! But the fundamentals of the economy remains unchange, wonder how long will the euphoria last.

Maybe we will see a bull market in tech for a while at least off of this news.

It is certainly good news Intel follow by Google, so I expect a bit of action for the tech for a while. But 29/30 Apr 08 are important dates, investors will be more or less side line waiting to see if there is any more rate cuts.

HAHAHAHAHA We aren't going to have a recession! It is stupid to think that way. Do people need jobs to spend money? No. Their "savings" and main income stream a.k.a. their homes are depreciating, but does that matter? Hell no. Doesn't matter if this "housing crisis" is supposed to be the worse in a long time, we all need to be hunky dory and look to the bright side! Oh, and does anyone care about rising rates on everything like credit cards and loans? Haha no way that shit don't matter. $115 oil? In no way will any of this affect consumer spending in the least bit. So no need to worry about anymore recession prattle, go on get drunk and buy stocks till you're blue in the face. Start with buying GOOG they're going parabolic to $120,000 like BRK.A

Oh, and keep an eye on that damn LIBOR.

Today, technology just rose above financials in terms of weight in the S&P 500...

Which is a reflection of how weak financials are, not how strong tech is...

How can you say financials are not weak with the terrible credit and housing situation that is just getting more and more worse every day?

    You should reread his post.

And you should read about Lehman 'douchebaggery' here: http://www.foolingsomepeople.com/main/TCF 2008 Speech.pdf

Good idea. I just reread my own post.

36 hours later, it still stands the test of time. It is a good one.

I am now investigating your douchebaggery link.

Haha. I was going to post something like that ini response to that post. Back then at $115 we were snorting coke and farting through silk.

Sorry for misreading that post... The financial sector continues to deteriorate. I'd hate to be holding Citigroup or Lehman Brothers right now. Auto stocks are getting crushed with GM losing more than half it's value in the last two months. Health care is going nowhere but down, and stocks like PFE and MRK are right at 52 week lows and going lower almost every week.

Tech, on the other hand is holding up quite nicely in these tough times. Anyone buying RIMM ahead of earnings this week?

I'd stay far away from RIMM. I can see the stock losing a lot by the end of the year.

I hope nobody is still holding their Lehman shares. They're now valued at 17 cents a share.
