Well.. first you need to know and understand what the differance was between web 1.0 and web 2.0 before you try to understand what the differance between web 2.0 and web 3.0 will be..
So the differance between web 1.0 and web 2.0 is... well, nothing:D

So I am guessing that there will be no differance between web 2.0 and 3.0. apart from the name.

As far as I can tell it was just hype, the internet is the internet, but it is getting better and growing all the time. they may even skip web 3.0 and go straight to web 4.3..
But at the end of the day, it will still be the internet :)

    Cheers

What a load of rubbish mate.

Web 1 - flat information pages.

Web 2 - bringing users together for a special purpose.

    Easy

Sorry if I sounded a bit casual about the meaning, or the differance between the two, but seriously, is there a differance? apart from the term?
My understanding is that it was a term coined by someone to draw attention to what the web was now offering. (after they had trademarked it of coarse)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O'Reilly_Media
I can't think of any "special purpose" that didn't already exist that would have sparked the change from Web 1.0 to 2.0.
But "rubbish" or not, it is my opinion.

    Some more info

Ok wrote this before reading this...

What a load of rubbish dude !

Web 2.0 and Web 1.0 is a creation of a moron for his own self serving purpose, according cern scientist who came with the idea of internet envisioned the current web to be the original web so what do you call the flat information pages ... web 0.5 ?

Web is tool and trends how people use it change, you are telling me that there are no flat information pages in the so called web 2.0 ? and didn't users create content in the earlier web...
