I think this is the best place to post this. My affiliate network seems to have access to my landing page and keywords, through some tracking software they have. How can I make it so they can't find the keyword or landing page I sold my product through? $10 Reward If this works!(PayPal only) Vene
I do have my own landing page, if it's any help its through clickbank. Am I at the wrong forum, or no one visits this one?
redirect to your own domain and use subids to track profitability to keywords level if you cant build your own system for this stuff yet, use prosper202.com. It's good and self hosted so you dont have to worry they will steal your keywords/LP
I'm not sure what you mean. I do send to my own domain, and I'm worrying about the affiliate network stealing my goods. Vene
You are missing what the guy above is saying this is what you have to do 1. have landing page. this is at www.domain1.com/landing 2. send the links off this landing page to www.domain2.com/redirect/ and put a 301 redirect on the pages to goto the affiliate network so then the Affiliate network only sees the links coming from domain2 and cannot know what domain1 is (but if they want to be really snoopy - they can check the sites on the shared IP with domain1 or even check and cross-reference the name registrar of domain1 as well- so you got to protect on all fronts) To do the redirect- simply modify or create a file called .htaccess on your server and in it put the following Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.example.com/newpage.html do this for each page that you want to redirect do I win?
^ thanks for elaborating me. But let me explain something to clear things up (sorry OP, thought you would understand what I mean in my first post) - I mean php redirect (not 301) - right if your network really snoopy and you worry they might reverse ip you (to find your landing page domain - in Virtual Banker's example it is domain1.com) ask your hosting for additional ip for your tracking domain (so domain1.com and domain2.com have different IP). This is on VPS or Dedi tho, if you're on shared hosting I dont think you really need to get additional IPs Still confused? Any additional questions? btw, no need to paypal me. Just rep a brother
you know, i feel a little silly, I didn't think about this. But the second domain is a really good idea. I'm going to look into getting more IP addresses. I'm probably going to try the PHP script. I'll know if this works as soon as monday, and I'll probably throw both you guys a little something. Vene
http://profitapolis.com/featured/how-to-set-up-sub-id-encryption-with-a-php-redirect.html I used this method. It seems to be coming along nicely. I do have shared hosting, am I all good?? Vene
ok, sounds good. And yeah, you dont have to worry too much about reverse IP if you're on shared account. You're all set
