I've been closing dozens of threads violating the new rules, and there have been surprisingly few complaints. The affiliate rule was in place for days, and the other one went into effect yesterday... the stickies were simply closed in favor of an announcement format today to make it more visible. If they're not reading the announcements, they'll figure it out soon enough with the thread closures, and later on the warnings and infractions that will start going out with new threads. We're handling much like we handled the recent ban on stumble-related threads, and the process worked very well.

They're being closed as we get to them. There's no need to report old ones, but if you see one still active that should be closed, it can be reported. We'll get to them when we're able (there are a lot to work through).

Who cares if you red rep someone?

That's the whole point, to leave your thoughts.

Anyway, what if you have an active thread, and you can't edit the OP?

Report it to be closed to be safe. Also we are closing them as we see them right now.

Then it gets closed. When that happens, you can start a new thread that won't be "active" with bumps. ;)

    I have a question:
Is there any difference between referrals links and affiliate links?

Great rules unless implied, may be a PM sent to every member would help with a dialog box to make sure they accept to these rules or get 5 point infraction :)

This will bring down a lot of PM me spams which is very frustrating, the OP can just list down the information rather than ask us to post PM me. I am very grateful for this rule, it will sure cut down on a lot of useless posts.

Hi mod first no hard felling and please don't give me red rep for this question too . Don't you think this method can fill our pms with too much spams also . In thread we can send messages to all those guys who are interested , but think about one condition

What if you are a good trader and running two or more thread few in freebies and some in trading section amount above $5 , don't you think we can get confused from where we have received that message , i have seen many guys just directly send pm that can we have this thing , i try to post most of time that do send thread link with reply to get fast response too .

What do you think about this ?

    Thanks

Can I suggest something besides the "PM Me" can ban those "Thank you" posts? Sometimes 1 thread can have pages of "Thank you" posts from totally irrelevant people which is extremely boring

Nihangshah - Referral links, affiliate links, and masked links all fall under the no affiliate link rule.

amit - I believe something like that would be in Shawn's hands, but I wouldn't expect it.

atulperx - When you create a thread, specifically tell people to PM you with a certain PM title (like SEO Content Writer, or Interested in "Fill in the Niche" Site). Then you'll know which thread they're responding to, and it won't involve littering the forum with garbage.

wisdomtool - Thank you posts have been banned for a long time (they fall under the post has no value infraction rules). So if you see those, feel free to report them, and we'll deal with them.
