In writing a paper for my English class, I'd like to include a survey of the three main stances on religious beliefs. Religious (belief in a deity or deities), Agnostic (does not believe in the existence of or absence of a deity or deities), and Atheistic (does not believe in a deity or deities). Note: if there is any dispute on the definition of the catagories, please use Webster for the definition - if you still can't decide, please don't vote (this is not intended to be a discussion per se, but more just a poll, which is why I did not think it belonged in the Religion subforum). Please do not debate the religious types or opinions of others. This is purely for collection of data for my paper, and is not intended to be a contestation of any sort. Thanks.
there is no such religious category called religious....second: "Atheism, as an explicit position, either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism.[2] " what are they teaching you people? and the forms of religious beliefs are: Pluralism, Syncretism, Universalism, Systemization and so on...you can't say religious and add atheism in the same category...
They believe in the lack of god. So atheists are religious too. Can't you consider that as a religion too? I am with you on this one.
Interesting first post... So you've come on DP to ask people's religious beliefs... what does this poll prove? "Internet marketers are less religious that the rest of the polulation"
Glad you asked. The purpose of creating a survey on Digital Point is to gather samples from many different forums, such as yours (and a physics forum, and a philosophy forum, and many, many other samples), to see the general consensus (or lack of) of the forum. The results are not intended to prove any statement, as the samples will be too small to do so, but rather to let the readers who will see the results form their own opinions and get a general idea of the diverse beliefs on the internet.
I am Atheistic as well, I was born and live in a religious town, but I don't believe in it or any religion.
I'm agnostic because...................Everything you know could be fake or it could be the truth. You never know.
I'm a Christian, so I think I fall on the first one. Too bad many here don't believe in God. I think my question has been answered already in your last post. Interesting research for an English class.
