    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

The most common error webmasters make

IMO, is the way they communicate with customers and advertisers. As you write an email looking for a new advertiser or as you write copy for your site always ask the following question:

What's in it for the other person?

    For example, which is better?

Advertise with me so I can feed my puppy

    OR

Advertise with me and I will make sure that people become aware of your brand, I will send you quality traffic, and I will send you good link juice.

I know it seems obvious, but I can't even count the number of emails that go something like "Can you buy some more ads? I really need it right now." Webmasters are not writing for me - they are writing for themselves.

Learning to write with this one little change can turn your business around.

    I totally agree JIm!

This doesnt go sole for webmasters with ad space.
So many ppl contact me and tell me how much
i can help them without ever giving me any explaination
of how they're going to help me...

Jim touched on a really hot topic that a lot of big spenders
HATE. If you want something from someone dont just tell
them what you want them to do (even if it's easy) first tell
them everything you've already done for them or plan to
    do.

Glad u posted this Jim ;)

Very nice point there. Before taking you have to tell what you can give.

Just for the record, I've run into this same issue at least twice since starting this thread not too long ago. No one (but you and maybe your mom) cares what you want. People care about what they want so when you're communicating tell the other person how you can help them.

If you think it over and have no idea why the other person would advertise with you, send you $50, or whatever it is you're trying to get - then you are not ready. Put together a more attractive advertising package. Figure out what kind of valuable work you can do to earn that $50, etc.

If you want an example, I was just responding to an email and thought of this thread. The email inquiry comes first and then see how my response talks about how the other person can benefit from giving me all their money:
