Should be able to get that for around $5000. Pay them $20 000, you'll get much better quality than vB or IPB.

Thanks for your reply :), I want it to be like Wordpress.com and .org

on .com I will let people get their free forums like ipbfree.com does, and on .org I will sell (im sure it'll be a cheap price) the forum software...

So basicly I will need some good servers... any idea what kind of servers would be good for this matter and what's the cost?

If you want it done right, with everything optimized to scale properly, I would say that it would cost a minimum of at least $20K. I mean, you might be able to put together something that would cost a little less, but to get it done to where it could be easily maintained and modified in the future, as well as scale without killing the database server, it would be hard to get that done for $5K.

For that price u could easily get it done but i think it should be a team of developers a company and not an individual

Just hire the right person with right skills... probably a group of 3-5 members can do this project for u.. and reasonable price would be 5-10k$ and it may be better than vb also... collect suggestions from current forum users and get it developed...

what happens if you pay 20,000 and the person or persons complete the software and a month later a hacker finds multiple exploits? Do you pay to get it fixed or just learn the language and do it all yourself?

Why can't you just buy a preexisting forum package like vBulletin and modify it to your needs? You'd get much better support and would save a lot of money.
