I just read this recent urgent warning from the American Consumer Opinion Panel and the SurveySpot paid survey site. E-Mail From ACOP: WARNING! Mystery Shopper Scam A fraudulent Canadian company is using the American Consumer Opinion® name to mail counterfeit checks for thousands of dollars, instructing you to deposit the check and then wire part of the money back to them. The company falsely claims the money you wire will go towards your training to become a mystery shopper. This is a criminal and illegal scam. Do not attempt to cash or deposit the check. Do not wire any money to anyone. Membership in American Consumer Opinion® is always free. Thank you. Anne Parks, Vice President of American Consumer Opinion® Warning on SurveySpot's Webpage FRAUD WARNING We are aware that in recent weeks the SurveySpot likeness has been used fraudulently. If you have received any mailed correspondence with the SurveySpot/Survey Sampling International logo which includes an unexpected check and/or instructions to send a MoneyGram, wire transfer or other form of payment to anyone, please do not attempt to cash the check , send any money or follow through with any other procedure outlined in the letter. This correspondence did not come from SurveySpot, and it is not a valid offer. SSI and SurveySpot never ask respondents, panelists or job applicants to send money or make any payment or funds transfer of any kind. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you're a member of these panels or alternatively promote them to referrals or via an affiliate marketing program. Best & Take care!
