Hi, We have just started using YouTube and have produced our own live music sessions with selected artists. http://youtube.com/user/routenote Im trying to find out ways to promote these videos, because i think they will become a great success. Any ideas?? Or anyone able to help?? Thanks
Well you can use a tool called SEOBook that can help you learn how to optimize your keywords so that your videos can get ranked higher in google and youtube. Optimizing your keywords will really help in that. Also in YouTube, by commenting and subscribing to other people channels and vids will help get your name out there more so where more people will see you. Also if you do live performances at home there is a website called UStream.tv where you can be on camera live and do your music that way as well and generate some fans that will come and watch you there as well. One more thing that is also a free tool is called Tube Mogul. It will allow you to upload your vid to like 12 different video hosting sites all at the same time and it will keep the statistics for you so you know where you are getting the most traffic.
send me a site summary, or a press release and some web graphics, I'll do a feature for you on my blog (rockstarist.com/blog)
Why isnt a link to your site in the video description? The first line in the video description should have a link to your site, that way it is visible. Why isnt the website name in the credits at the beginning of the video? Are the videos embedded in your site? If so, add a link to that location in the video description as well.
Thanks for all the info. @breanne I think i will sign up to Tube Mogul. It seems like a really cool program. @basscleff You can find all the info about your site at www.routenote.com @kev I have now added the link into the description. Anyone else have any other ideas?
Hi Also you can put your video on other media site just like you tube but you'll achive more visitors faster...
@dekac We have tried to put all our videos across various platforms and it seems to be working, but i really want to try to gain more of a presence on YouTube. How can this be done?
Why not make some music videos besides just sitting there? Its not that hard to do. Video driving to the store, around town, playing with the kids,,,,,,, splice those videos together and put the music to it. Then show a couple of spots in the video of the person sitting there playing. Why do music videos have to be left to the record companies? Your music might be a reflection of your life. Well, show your life then. As an example, my children ages 12 and 14 are in a lot of my videos. The viewers like to see parents doing stuff with their kids. It brings the videos to a more personal level. Be a little more creative with your videos. Watch those music videos on TV. Think about what you like about the video. then incorporate that feature into your own video. Think "why" you like a certain music, or a certain music video. Its not good enough to say "I like that video or song" - but "why" do you like it? When you figure out "why" you like something, then you have a selling point. Then you will fully understand what its going to take to make your stuff popular. My subscribers on youtube have sent me lots of information about what they like and dont like. I use this feed back to improve (not always though) the focus of my videos. Why not post some instructional videos on your channel? Instead of just "playing" - teach people "how" to play.
