A car accident has prevented me from being able to do my regular work, what now?

Yesterday, I was in a horrible car accident. I was in a '07 TrailBlazer that rolled atleast 20 times, or so I heard, but I was knocked out cold as soon as I hit the ground. My friend (not anymore though) was driving and lost control swerving from some idiot speeding in our lane going around a very sharp corner. We couldn't see it coming because a very steep hill going up was in the way, and on the other side of the road there is a 20 foot drop. We lost control trying to swerve out of the way of the car, slammed into the steep upward hill, then flew off the 20 foot drop, and as we hit the ground, I blacked out as (I was told) we rolled at least 20 times. I must have been blessed or something, and I'm not even a religious person, because I am very lucky to be alive with a few injuries. My face is very cut up, bloody, and permanently scarred. I am typing this with one hand because my left arm is possibly paralyzed for life.

Here's what I look like now:

What I want to know is if there is an industry in online business that does not require a lot of typing that I can do, because I am no longer able to create content for my website because it will take far too long to type all of that content. My designing work would take far too long to satisfy my customers.

I'm not looking for pity, I'm just explaining my situation. So, is there anything I can do to make a steady stream of income without it taking 2 or 3 times longer than it should due to my left arm? Please let me know, as I am totally out of work and online business is my only source of income. I greatly appreciate your help to everyone that does help me.

    Hi

I am sorry that happened to you but you survived the accident and thats something we are happy about.

Well, so far I know, since typing would be very hard with one hand, you can do some sites which pays you just to click. Or you can do directory, article submission if you had an autofill programs which doesn't required typing but just few clicks. Designing would be very hard for you.
There are also voice recognizing software of some sort which can help you type by speaking.
Other than that, I am sure other members of this forum would come up with some good ideas.

Other than that, I like to edit this cause, You should take some rest for couple of days or maybe month because the accident like this will take lots of time to heal both physically and mentally. So take some rests until you are prepared.

Well, take care of your self and I know this is very overwhelming experience of your life. But things will heal out.Btw, where are you from?

Sorry to hear about your accident. While right now things may seem bleak my advice is to challenge yourself to continue to do everything you did before your accident even though you only have the use of one hand now. It will take you longer initially and you will have to retrain yourself in many many things but don't give up. You can continue to be just as good at everything in your online business as you were before your accident. Push yourself hard and commit to yourself that this set back will not stop you from achieving your goals.

Dude, you're lucky to be alive, that's for sure. Your face will heal well and although you may have a scar or two, from your pic I'd say they probably won't be too bad.

What, may I ask, is wrong with your left arm? I know you said 'paralysed' but I mean, what is the injury that is causing the paralysis? Feel free not to answer that of course, as it's personal to you and I do not wish to intrude.

I think you're lucky to have made it alive. I wish you the best and a speedy recovery.

As for the challenges you face, lets see.

How is your voice? If you have no problem talking, a program like Dragon Naturally Speaking will resolve that. You can use a key to correct something that didn't dictate correctly. This might actually speed up your writing.

As for monetizing your online time, my suggestion is to find a great affiliate program to work with. Of course, that is a huge challenge, but given your determination, I am sure you'll succeed.

    Take care,
    Sam

Thanks for your support everyone, and you've opened me up to some pretty good ideas.

Well, the nerve in my elbow is completely annihilated, and it may not heal, but it might heal at the same time. Also, in the crash, my shoulder was dislocated completely.

    Haha, great idea.
Then I'll use the money to invest into incentivised affiliate offers, hm? :p

sorry to hear that . just be patient and take your time to relax and rest . here's my suggestion
    1) try to become domainer . I don;t think need a lot of typing
    2) maybe you can ask ghost writer / freelancer to do your work
    3) if you are able to walk , maybe you can teach people for online business .

and this is not the end of your life yet . just be positive and everything will be OK :)

Ah, that's not so good. If it gives you any hope I had an injury to my right arm many moons ago which resulted in the loss of most of the functioning although it wasn't completely paralysed. With time and great care I was able to regain almost all function. It did take a long time though.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened. I'm sure by now you've already amassed quite a couple of ideas. Try each of them - there's no hurt in trying!

Keep the faith and always think positive!

Well, I can speak from experience here. I'm a brain tumor survivor and I am not going to post those photos because they are "frankesteinish". The last surgery was 5 years ago.

The paralysis could very well heal at least partially so only time will tell. Nerve damage is strange and it can take up to 2 years to really tell what's gone and what's not. After both the first and the second crainiotomy, I had paralysis in different areas that did go away. I'm left with paralysis on the left side of my tongue strangely enough.

You will get through this. It takes a lot of courage and you just need to forge ahead with the attitude "where there is a will there is a way". I had to rebuild my business twice from the basement. It was not easy. But I developed an additional skill set as a result of my fear of being way behind my peers. As it turns out, I launched myself way ahead. I don't think this would have happened had I not had the tumor in the first place. So see this as an opportunity as much as you can. Not everyone gets another chance.

I suggest doing marketing using videos etc for your site and get into partnership with someone if they can pot content.

May I ask why your friend is no longer your friend? Did you blame him for the accident or am I missing something deeper? Truelly sorry to hear about the crash.

My "friend" is a terrible liar and has been telling people completely different stories about the crash. He also blamed me for stealing some pot that he had picked up for a friend.. I don't know how I could have stolen it anyway, or WHY I would steal it when I had to crawl to the side of the road 50 feet from the vehicle with one arm and blood gushing from my face. Also, the first responders cut all of my clothes off with scissors, and I was in the hospital all night, so where would I hide it?

Anyways, once again, thank you everyone for your support, and I've been working and studying some of these methods suggested and it seems like it will work out for me after all. I used to hate DP because of some of the people on here, but it turns out there are some very helpful people here too from this thread. I can't express it enough. :D

omg that sucks - I have a very bad arm myself and have been through similar trauma that has literally removed me from the workforce - if you spend a few months as you heal looking for a way to create money online - you will find it. I've pointed you to my sig before - truly is what saved my whole life. The link is still down there below these words, for now.

I was broke as hell, and broken, and I applied 6 months of dedication and came up with something that pays me over and over and generates a huge amount of traffic that is also automatically monetized. It then is monetized further through adsense and CPA offers - I've got it down to a science, and if you can muster enough time for 20 minutes a day - in under one month this can pay you too. I wrote and am selling the guide because it is valuable, and life saving in my case and a few of my readers, and it took me ages to discover, tweak, and maximize.

I'm coming up on 50 copies sold - will post a milestone topic when I make it there - but the point I say it is because No One has complained, and I have made many new friends with my guide. I was able to help a few people like us, and a few others I haven't been so privileged to get closer to yet.

That's a Big Deal considering at least 50 percent of my new friends and readers have been from here - with no problems. I was doubted at first, yet over and over I gain pleased readers and new friends. I've even sold this guide to professors and competition who were dying to know what I am doing to be making so much money - in less than 20 minutes a day.

I know it feels like the end of the world - but trust me, it's not. If you stick at it, you will find what works for you - if you allow me to help you, I will. I will save you a lot of time, and open up time for focusing on bigger things.

Good Luck, I'm sorry about your accident. :/
