What you think about one of the largest deal of 21st century on internet
    What you personally think ?

Microsoft Should BUY Yahoo OR NOT ??

I personally feel that, Yes MS should buy Yahoo
bcoz currently Google is ruling the internet in terms of many things ..

If MS buys the Yahoo, Google will get new competitor and ofcourse we (specially webmasters) will get more competitive offers from both of them

Buying Yahoo will not help Microsoft take over search, especially not at the near 100% premium price its been offering to pay for Yahoo shares. What will eventually happen is that Microsoft's other products will subsidize the purchase of Yahoo which will lead to higher costs and problems in MS's bottomline. Why diverge to search engines when software buyers will be paying the price? Its foolish to say the least.

For me yes, this is the best way to get the market. And this is the only way to challenge Google

No. Because microsoft already manipulated the softwares. They should not dominate in the internet world. Let them have their own domination.... If the Google on the internet, microsoft on the softwares...

And so we'll have high prices on both desktops and Internet, right?
Let your hate for Microsoft go away for a second and think:
if there is competition, there are lower prices for us, buyers ;)

    Yes,

M$ with money and Ya with talents,

    They should co-operate.

    More providers for services/products competition,

100% good to consumers ie buyers (us).

Monopoly isn't good to us, buyers/consumers!

    For your reference only.

And I hope it will. Already Microsoft took a big step with ASP.NET and Silverlight on the Internet. Also it seems to gain more and more enterprise server market due it's new Windows 2008 Server and IIS 7.

It's all dependent on the price. Yahoo would be a great acquisition for Microsoft, provided that MSFT does not overpay.

If Microsoft buys Yahoo then nothing changes so I see no reason for them to buy Yahoo, or anyone else for that matter.

Some of you are stating about more competition, more price deductions, in what? What has Microsoft/Yahoo! got to do with the price of ISP connections and computers? No problem for Microsoft but Microsoft has already caused slow recessions around the world because other competitors have no market at all to work with. Microsoft has got it all (or most of it).

I don't really see what Microsoft will do that's going to be new or exciting for Yahoo! - Yahoo! is too far behind of Google, and even Yahoo!'s hosting service is so appauling! Nothing for Yahoo! to improve on really. Unless Microsoft use the same old stupid tactics they do with their operating system and Internet Explorer, there's no way market share can change. More new people are getting to know about Google, and Microsoft may use the same tactic on newcomers to the Internet.

In my opinion, no it shouldn't happen: there's nothing to gain.

Microsoft is greedy. It can buy it and gain profits from this deal but it fails...I heard the last price was $46 billions...

Personally, I think if Microsoft buys Yahoo it could end up hurting webmasters. I would much rather have many search engines to market in rather than just two (technically Microsoft and Google). Some people will say that they will have to do much less SEO for just these two and be happy about that, but I would much rather have more than that. If you lose rankings with one, there goes 50% of your traffic! Plus, I don't want to watch Microsoft turn Yahoo into another shit*y search engine. I never use MSN/Live (whatever it is now) and on the off chance that I do, the results really suck and never point me to what I what.

Microsoft should get out of the search engine business, not be buying more of it up!

Microsoft should buy Yahoo because then Microsoft has a chance when Google comes out with whatever they are coming out with.
