    I would type more. Adsense looks though your site and picks out key words based on what is typed on your site.

    More quality contents = no more public service ads.

    If you don't have money, look for free ebooks about the adsense program (click my signature).

    Even you have money, don't buy them because a lot of tips here. What you need to know is how to get the traffic.

    The problems seems to be that Google simply does not have any ad inventory for the topic of your web site -- dinosaurs and ice age. There are apparently no Adword advertisers paying for ads for those keywords. If Google doesn't have ad inventory for your site, it will only display PSA ads. The topic of your site is simply not one that is good for Adsense.

    It is about either your love or adsense. Unfortunately many of us can't have both.

    I'm fortunate because I was in the accounting/finance profession for many years and I'm getting a decent earning from my personal financial websites. Now I'm into insurance because I'm intested and there are high paying adsense ads.

    I love to play chess but I have no intention of having chess websites for obvious reasons.

    As has already been said, Google determines what ads to place on your pages by crawling the content. The bot analyzes your keywords and then 'looks' at the pool of advertisers for bids placed on those particular keywords.

    There are niches with high, low, or mid-level keyword bids, that is true, but there are no bids for blank space.

    Write some content about your subject and place it on the pages. Dont worry about the prices of the keywords/ads, just worry about the content being relevant and of interest to the visitors of your site. You have chosen your niche for this particular site so stick to it.

    By the way, placing Google ads on pages with no content is borderline violation of TOS

    You should try to put more plain text in order to let the Google bot to crawl. This helps increase the ads relevancy.

    Yup, more content, content, content with relevant keywords. Have that and PSAs will soon be gone.

    With just one page on a domain, and very little text, it would be hard for Adsense to show relevant ads... Trying adding some "real pages" and some content...

    When you make the ads, there is an option for google to display those ads or even a color if no paying ads are available. :)

    If you are lazy to add sufficient contents to attract adsense ads, add alternative ads (ModernClick, etc).

    An example:

    <script type="text/javascript"><!--
    google_ad_client = "pub-XXX";
    google_alternate_ad_url = "http://moderncl1ck.com/eb/6/XXX";
    google_ad_width = 468;
    google_ad_height = 60;
    google_ad_format = "468x60_as";
    google_ad_type = "text_image";
    google_ad_channel ="";
    //--></script>
    <script type="text/javascript"
    src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
    </script>

    If you are lazy to get any alternative ads, continue to accept those public service ads to get donations for deserving souls.
