Getting traffic from Adult Site

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by mixke, May 20, 2008.

One of my site has a link on a adult site and I never asked for it. The owner linked to my site on his own and now, I'm getting some traffic from that link and the visitors are also making some clicks.

I'm not very sure if this is okay with Adsense or not. Looking forward to any help, advice.

    Thanks

I don't know if it's against googles ToS. Send a message to google to let them know of the situation, that should at least keep you in the clear and maybe they can give you some advice.

Google can't hold you responsible for who chooses to link to your site.

If your website doesn't have any Adult/Copyrighted content then its OK... You are not violating Google Adsense programe policies.

I know but do you think it'll be okay with Adsense if I keep getting traffic from Adult site?

    Well yes.
What sort of a business would they be if they banned everyone who obtained an unsolicited and undesirable link?

The adult site and mine are not related by any means and I'm still getting traffic and clicks from them. I find this situation similar to proxies, no value to the advertisers. I'm left consufed.......duh!!

it doesnt matter from where you get traffic, just avoid adult content on your site to avoid any trouble.

I was worried about the traffic and clicks and not the backlink. As for the backlink, that website is not related to mine so I don't expect any boost in rankings but yea! it's sending some traffic.

Its not going to be any problem if it is not your main traffic source...if traffic is only coming from an adult site then may be you can face some problem..

it is ok for you if you don't put adult contents at your site. you can not stop others to add your link at their adult site.

it is strange for someone to link to you where your site is not relevant to the site where your link is placed. but i would not worry about it. you cannot control who links to you and google cannot and usually doesn't hold you responsible for incoming links from bad neighbourhood. think about it, if it was so easy to get you in trouble with adsense, then all a crook competitor needs to do is to put your site link on an illegal site and you are done. NO! its not that easy so relax.
