Posting on press release sites won't do any good for many reasons. Having achieved a quarter page story about my site in a national newspaper, I'm telling you this as fact, that hardly any websites will get accepted by top Journalists for a feature. They need to be very special to be chosen.

To my knowledge just 4 UK sites got good mentions in the last 2 years and I own one of them.

The media have the power here, and can pick and choose what means and IS a good idea, but so many webmasters just don't get it, that you just can't wack up another website and expect it to hit the papers.

(btw - listing it with PR websites is a big waste of time, for everyone else is doing the very same thing as the rest thus you won't stand out for that very reason.)

These PR sites, (and I use the term loosely), are nothing to do with any Press, Journalists or Newspapers and the only reason a Journalist might visit one, would be to track news stories about a particular website that has ALREADY been written about! Journalists do not trawl these things like the public does with a search engine, they won't be hunting for your little website, so they can do a feature on it - Get real, it ain't going to happen.

Submitting with PR listing services will not get you into any newspaper.

Instead of wasting time plugging another useless website, why not think of another web idea that might be newsworthy. You might, maybe, possibly get better results this way. Think Youtube, or MyVouchercodes, or Parkatmyhouse.com etc for inspiration!

Try startups.co.uk for some truly good ideas and think of a bad problem and a way that solves it on a national level.
