I haven't been banned yet, but I've had my adsense account for almost two years now. I used it a long time ago, then stopped for about 10 months, and now I'm using it again. I've only earned $87 with about 600,000 impressions. I've never been payed because I haven't reached the minimum payout. I use to click my ads about once a week when I first got my adsense account, which was really stupid of me . So I'd probably get banned right? If so, should I just take the adsense off my website and try something else? Or should I wait until I reach $100 (even though chances are I'll get banned)? Input appreciated!
Well this was a long time ago (terrible excuse) and I was only 15 (again, terrible excuse). I regret it, but what do you think I should do?
If you clicked your ads recently (which I assume you didn't since you say you only did that when you first got the account) then notify Google that you were "testing" your site and request that they invalidate the clicks from that range of dates. If you clicked them 2 years ago, then just relax. If they haven't banned you for it yet, they won't. Btw. Clicking your own ads is eeeevil. Don't do it.
You should be fine - Google would have banned you long ago if you've been doing invalid clicks. They've probably deleted their suspicious clicks log data from 1+ years ago.
if you clicked on your ads 10 months ago, then google will most likely not find it after such a long time. however, it was really childish for you to clicks on your own ads. dont do it again, read the TOS line by line, and continue with adsense
Well, if you're still running it fine, I don't see why they should ban you for clicking your own ads 8 months ago. Or did I miss something?
Once you hit the payout figure of $100 then your account is checked thoroughly - and then you probably will be banned.
You sounded as if it is a capital offense. I would suggest you try to sign up for some other advertisers in addition to Adsense if you are so worried.
I think you'll be fine now after so long, so keep Adsense up and make some nice money (Without clicking your own ads).
Google would have banned you by now. Most likely they disounted your clicks. No, they don't wait until you reach $100. That is rumor and untrue. Simply don't click our ads any more, and make sure to report accidental clicks. Over long time lines Google is pretty forgiving (however over short time lines Google's very unforgiving). Source: I've gotten two google adsense accounts banned (personal and company's) and I've had my third and most profitable (with which I am extremely careful not to be fraudulent)
So now you are 17 right, I think people under 18 can't have a adsense account Anyway, how many times have you clicked on your own ads? If you have done it for few times (2 or 3 times), then I guess your account will not be banned as Google will consider that accidental clicks.
