PHP - using all files in a folder

    A friend of mine once mentioned that there is a way to go through all the files in a folder, and then use them for something. For example, if you wanted to have a photo gallery on your site, all you would have to do would be drop the files into the /images folder, and the site would automatically put them up. Can someone help me figure out how to do this?

    It is a bit more complicated than that.

    If it is images you want to do there are a lot of free scripts out there that will do the job for you. Idutgallery is one that comes to mind.
