In the alt tag for an image put a description of the image which should naturally be relevant to your site and contain one or two keywords

don't use alt tags for spam. they are there for accessibility reasons, not for keyword stuffing.

Use Proper keyword with related to your image. For company logo then you can use Your company name with your company description.

Alt Tag for Logo - Basically I used the main targeted keyword (ex. if your website is SEO company, then use SEO company - Company Name).

I swear to $diety; I need a custom user title...

For the last time, ALT="" IS NOT A TAG. It's an ATTRIBUTE of the IMG element. And I put the name of the Web site in it, since that's usually what's in the logo.

just put one or two keywords related to your logo. putting two keywords or less is not a keyword stuffing anyways. You can just do this
or simply make it a phrase.

It's funny that once I read the words "alt and title tag" I immediately knew that Dan Schulz would get mad about it. Dan, think about your heart! These sort of threads could kill you some day! And, believe me, SEO experts don't want to be found dead behind their desk answering questions like these! :D

Anyhow, returning to the original question: in the alt attribute of the image element you should put the word "logo" and either your company name (if you own a well-known company) or your domain name (if you own a well-known internet domain) and perhaps an additional keyword or two (no keyword spamming, please). If for instance you own the internet domain digitalpoint.com, you may want to use alt="Digital Point logo" or alt="Digital Point webmaster forum logo". I don't think it's a good idea to use alt="DP logo" in this case, since that may attract a more adult crowd. ;)

if i sell say 300 different mirrors, would it be considered spam if i put the "alt attribute of the image element" in every single one?
