"Best registrar..." there is no such a thing.

Every registrar is good in the measure it serves to your purposes, it offers you what you are expecting from its service and it does not cause you headaches.

GoDaddy is a good example to keep in mind when it comes to people recommend it as the best, but stating it is the worst as soon as they discover hosting annoyances, unfriendly control panel or not efficient email support.

My domains are registered from cheap to expensive with the following registrars, all of them good in the measure of my needs:

    name.com
    domainsite.com
    1and1.com
    dynadot.com
    mydomain.com
    godaddy.com

For the most part GoDaddy is the best. They have some down sides but, then they all do .

I use both GoDaddy (have been for over 5 years now) and also Bluehost since 2007.

GoDaddy is better but can be annoying to deal with at times but so far as they don't make me lose money I can live with their foibles. BlueHost's control panel is what like way better than GoDaddy's. Easier to understand for the noob!
