    it depends on the script you will be using.
    You could try site sift script they have a forum that can help you customizing your directory. http://scripts.site-sift.com/

    What's the best directory script for a windows server? Needs to be free or cheap (like the ones mentioned here). I think the PHPLinkDirectory can be run on a windows server, is this correct? What other options do I have?

    Also, I don't want the site I'm building to be just a directory. I want to be able to have articles, news, and all sorts of other things related to the niche it will be created for. Oh, also neads to run Adsense.

    I'm looking for the same thing as AtoZNetVentures!!
    So if anyone has any experience building such a site please mention what kind of script you used to achieve this?

    I would advice you to use free or PRO version of eSyndiCat directory script. Very easy to install, use and modify, as well as very friendly support forum where you can get help for free.

    I am also looking for some script for windows. So far it semms to me that Creadirectory is great script for Windows . I will research its features tonight and will share with you soon
