Is "Hell" an appropriate punishment for anyone?

Think about it. Hell implies an eternity of suffering. We only get a hundred years at best on this planet. Even if you did something "wrong" every moment of your entire existence, would an eternity of suffering really be a just punishment?

Whether the punishment is Hell or otherwise, is not for us to judge.

Why do you think hell is a punishment? Think of it as a chance to meet every interesting person and every sexy women that ever existed through the history. :D

what do you mean?...PIMPS, hookers, alcohol and cigarretes makers, everyone goes to hell!! there is the fun my dear, live your life quickly, so you can go to a hell of a party!!! Why would you want to go to heaven? all the "little-to-no-sex" girls, priests, people with low self esteem, where is the fun in that?*
Unless of course, it's really a place of suffering, i never have been there, and i don't know anyone who has, maybe you want to share your experience and photos with us?

(after the "*" it's just a friendly joke)

I'm not saying make a judgement on the person or the crime, just asking if the punishment of an eternity is just.

I don't belive in it, but let's just say it's truth: does it make any difference?
I mean, it is what it is. Is not fair, i think, since there is no chance to regret about it.
But well, if god don't save them, then god doesn't love them.

As your probably aware, I'm agnostic. For the sake of this question, I will pretend in a Christian G-d with a heaven and hell. One thing I have wondered about is that in Christianity they believe everyone is 100% perfect in heaven. They say you can go to heaven, if you accept Jesus. Then he will forgive you of all your sins, and you will become perfect. It doesn't seem like it makes them perfect, because a day later they may ask again for forgiveness because they have done something else. So they would not be perfect, only forgiven. Therefore, how would all these imperfect Christians get into heaven? If they let them in simply because they were forgiven, heaven would be just like earth. They would be doing bad things in heaven and asking for forgiveness every other day. If the Christian version is true, G-d would have to do more than just forgive them, he would actually have to change who they are and make them perfect. Therefore, if G-d has to do that anyway, why wouldn't he just change everyone?

You can. You can have an opinion about an eternal punishment for "crimes" commited during a lifetime.

No crime could ever warrant eternal punishment.

Hey Rebecca sorry to take this a little off topic but I have always wondered this, since you are Jewish by blood and agnostic by belief, why do you say G-d and not God? I thought that was only for the people who follow Judaism. :D

Anyway on topic, it depends what religion you are talking about because in Christianity i think people are in Hell forever where as in Islam nobody stays in Hell for ever and eventually everyone will be in Paradise/Heaven

Only crimes against humanity in my eyes, in the strictest sense.
