Hello I am not opening this thread to start the usual ps3 vs xbox fight, I genuinely want to know. I have a ps2 at the moment but it is out of date. I also really wanna play gta4 without waiting for the pc release which could be a year from now. Of course I know the xbox is miles cheaper than the ps3 and I could pick up one for £150 ($300) quite easily. But the ps3 I could use for blu ray etc. Do you think it is worth spending the extra money for the ps3 or do you think and xbox will do? Calum
Thanks, it is not just about the game. I also want one for other things and other games etc. Just in general is it worth spending that extra a lot to get a ps3?
Go for Xbox 360 first, as they also moving toward using Blu-Ray after this. If you want a PS3, wait for the slim version. Although I don't know when will it be released. Because at that time, I sure that they will already have a lot of great games to be played on the PS3.
They have a patch for the bugs that installs auto on the game for ps3. I way more prefer my ps3 than the two xbox 360's i owned because you can do so much more with it. For the record my two xbox 360's both died and became extinct over a year ago due to crappy dvd drives. The ps3 is one hell of a machine. You could technically even play divx and xvid movies to your tv on it like I do.
Slim version for PS3 is the way to go, and it is only a month or two away (in the States at least, not going to pretend I know for the rest of the world). There are just too many cool things you can do with a PS3 that the 360 doesn't offer, like play for more than 2 hours without it breaking
Gran Turismo is the reason I bought a PS2, and a PS3. Polyphony Digital have me hooked big time - best game on the planet I've heard that the Xbox360 version of GTA4 will eventually have DLC (maybe it does already), and the PS3 version won't... I think I heard this on a 1UP podcast. Even if it's true, it's still not a good enough reason to buy a 360 over a PS3
IMO Ridge Racer is more exciting racing game and Midnight Club is more fun, but the GT series is the most realistic one
I downloaded the demo for Ridge Racer 7 and thought it was awful. I much prefer simulator driving games - which RR7 isn't (and isn't trying to be). I bought DiRT, but I've barely played it mainly due to the annoying Amercian voice over. COD4 is still my fav release for the PS3 so far. Even more than GT5 Prologue.
