    Hi,

I was wondering what you think is better having one big site that would earn 400$ per day or 5 that earn 40$ each?

Sorry I am tired it is meant to be 5*80$ Obviously!

    Of course. 5 X 40 is only 200.

well..since you meant 5 times 80 bucks...I think it comes down to two things

the updside of 5 sites is possibly more. diversification helps income...however the downside is that you need to maintain 5 sites versus one site. I have begun moving closer to one site for this very reason. I had two sites both making approx 100 bucks and decided to go with one of them and stop updating the other one. I hate the loss of diversification, but I came to terms with my limitations...

I say go with the one site unless you got help...then if you got enough help...go with the multiple ones...

My question is the same as FightRice. Is this really a serious question? Are you doing a case study to see if people who own websites can do simple math? Or is it a typo?

I'd go 5 because I don't put all my eggs in one basket. What if something happened to your main site?

I think in the short run, money is money. but in the long run, with a single site you are able to develop a strong brand and create a very popular site, which in turn will make more than 5 other sites. Like with 5 sites, you must develop each site seperatly and you might not get as much traffic or popularity as a single site that people come back to everyday.

It's better to have all actually. A site that earns 400$/day and 4 sites that earn 80$/day, you get 800$ all in all.

Like what a tornado? ITs a website, anything that goes wrong is 99.9999% the webmasters fault.

Lol, not really. It could be your host's fault, an unforeseen crash. Anything could happen in a second, really.

In addition...something like the market could change. Say a bunch of big wigs come into your niche and suck up all the money...Or say you get tired of your niche...or say that technology advances to the point where your niche becomes irrelevant...Diversification of niche's can be helpful...but it is gonna be difficult for one person...I think one site is best, but I think that diversification of niche's can be helpful...

Exactly! The 5 sites offer more scope for diversification and improvement in the earnings when compared to a single site. Relying on a single source of income is obviously dangerous one and not recommended, imo

    Exactly!!!!!!!!

I have taken this a step further, and have even begun developing sites catering to the UK market, in case anything really bad happens here in the USA. I suggest everyone else do the same.

Hackers, Google Slaps, list goes on..

I would prefer 5 sites rather than keeping one. Its safe. Also you can use other affiliate programs and different sites would give you better result.
