Is John McCain as stupid as Bush?

He holds his microphone upside down, he does not know the names of the terrorist factions, and his knowledge of American history is a bit...lame. He can't even seem to separate religion from business.

Am I the only one that thinks this guy is a few cans short of a six pack?

He may be a few cans short of a six pack, but If you give him and Bush a standardized IQ test, I would put my money on McCain. I don't agree with him on many of his policies but if I had to take a guess, I would say McCain is a good standard deviation to the right on the bell curve compared to Bush.

I am sure you will get a ton of people to reinforce your thinking; and you can all have a grand time. This is DP!

No, he is just an American politician, being dumb and lack knowledge is pretty much the standard. :D

You know, we give the ASVAB to those young men and women who want to join our military. Maybe we should have the same sort of test for those that want to be politicians.

This match would be too tight to decide both are really equally matched. I won't dare to say who will win in the end :)

    Amen.

Though, methinks he MUST be a genius seeing as how he won his party's nomination by DISAGREEING with everything his base stands for: immigration, campaign finance, taxes, foreclosure freezing, status quo with SS and medicare, he even is proposing carbon taxes to stop "global warming". He's basically a pro-war democrat really. Between McCain-Lieberman-Feingold-Kennedy, I can't think of any more far left of a politician than the ones he's partnered up with already.

But that's the good old "PW songbird" for you! He's still singing that Hanoi Hannah tune! Turning on his comrades is just second-nature for him, I think.

Bush has genuinely stupid smile. McCain's smile give me a wicked feeling that he is hidding something behind that smiling face.

I don't think he is as stupid as bush. That isn't a compliment though, It's based entirely on the grounds that nobody can be as stupid as bush.

No. I don't think he's as stupid as Bush, but I do think he's just as dangerous if not more so. He's a real foreign policy hawk and he has already promised "there will be other wars."

But I do not think McCain is particularly intelligent either. He finished 894th out of 899 at his Naval Academy class.

Plus he is getting quite old and it's be disturbing that he's having these "senior moments" prior to even entering the White House. Can you imagine when he's 80 in 2012?

    ---

For comparison - Barack Obama was magna cum laude at Harvard Law School. That's the kind of "elite" I'm down with. I think we should have a person of superior intellect as President of the country. I really don't get it. We're not voting on "guy I want to have a beer with." We're voting on "who is going to run this country." I'm hoping that Bush's absolute failure of a Presidency will make people think twice before choosing the dumb guy again.

McCain was a partier back then. His grades probably had more to do with his priorities(getting drunk and chasing tail) than his intelligence. I don't think McCain or Bush are stupid even though Bush says some really stupid things. McCain's recent gaffes may be attributable to his age and the stress of campaigning.
