The black, woman or old white guy?

Who is going to be the next President?

The black guy, the woman, or the old white guy? Yes, I have distilled the choices down to the most sexist, racist choice possible. I think most people that post here are much above that, but I can't say the same for all of the voters. Who do you think will be "elected" as the next president?

I guess McCain stands the greatest chance after Obama and Clinton worn themselves out fighting each other.

There is another reason why I feel so, the Senate and Congress is in the hands of the Democrats, I think somehow people would want a balance of powers and a Republican candidate will have this slight advantage due to the need to balance powers.

I never thought McCain would make it this far, and it seems to be almost with ease. He doesn't even have any real competition for Republican nomination. Now he's just kicking back watching Clinton and Obama duke it out, probably laughing to himself. I don't know who will win, but I think he does have a chance.

I hope that there are at least enough people paying attention to the charade that it would be factor. Unfortunately, I don't think the people care too much about "politics" anymore. They might complain and moan, but getting off that couch is another thing.

While it isn't limitless, it's important to keep in mind the election isn't until November, and Obama is about to take the nomination. McCain has indeed been coasting, but he will be brought to task very shortly. In public memory cycles, ample opportunity for all kinds of swings through the next several months. Just ask Clinton, the clear "presumptive frontrunner."

Reading the title of your thread, I thought it was about another black guy getting beat up in south for dating a white woman. :D

I'm hopeful that it doesn't come down to that kind of "thinking." I am confident that if the election is about the issues then Barack Obama will win in a landslide.

IF Obama or Clinton win, some assasination attemps may be made. :(

If Mccain wins we'll be in Iraq longer.

I'm going for Mccain anyway.

OBAMA = He's Black which could set a pre-text to more future wars not being "racist" becuase the presidant is black.

CLINTON = A woman presidant could win far more Propaganda in the world, becuase a woman presidant would potray ultimate democracy *farts*

McCAIN = Keeping the patriotic bull farse alive, for those old fashioned rambo-movie like people.

TOTAL = An amazing soap-opera-entertaining-media-money-making worthless election that would give the AIPAC speech writers a nice thrill

LOL. Ask McCain! He was completely counted out just a few months ago!
To be honest I care less about who gets elected than I do watching the process. It's like sport to me. You never know what's going to happen.

That's very true. I just tend to think political currency is more volatile than the dollar, and do not believe the current state reflects what will take place over the next several months.

Why? Why on earth would anyone sign up for four more years of George W. Bush's insane neocon policies after what he's put this country through over the past 8 years?

It's really insane when you look at Bush with a 71% disapproval rating yet McCain is still getting 45%+ in polls. There's a real disconnect here.

MCCAIN = BUSH = DO NOT VOTE FOR HIM.

It's really a very simple equation!

That's a Clinton/McCain talking point and completely devoid of any factual basis. I have listened to a lot of Obama's speeches and he often goes into fine detail on what he wants to do and of course all of his plans are laid out in detail on his website. http://www.BarackObama.com/issues

I disagree with the common idea that Barack and Clinton are destroying each others chances of winning the Presidential race.
The contest between them has galvanised and excited Democrat voters the likes of which hasn't been seen in years...
All those people who rushed out to vote will do so again in November, whether the Big B or Clinton win.

I agree. People are totally underestimating the voter turnout and overall voter excitement among Democrats. And as Obama has said, this long primary season has been a benefit in some ways in that it has allowed them to set up strong organizations in 48 states (all except Michigan & Florida.)

Yes, there are some Hillary supporters who seem really angry right now but I think they will come to their senses and not vote against their own self interest by November.

And yes there are some racist Democrats who will just absolutely never vote for a black guy, no matter what. But I think their numbers are small and really - good riddance to them.

I understand your feelings but I do not think this applies to Barack Obama. He wants to bring respect back to America. He wants diplomacy before bombs. I believe his foreign policy will be a huge improvement over what we have had over the last 8 years. It will be smarter and in the process make America (and the world) safer.
