Anyone else's value per click drop to crap today?

I went from 6.00 in clicks yesterday across my network down to 60 cents today for almost the same amount of clicks.

It was low enough to start with being proxy traffic. What gives. Can anyone shed some light. It's been consistant until today.
Actually I had one other day like this. really low earnings.. it bounces around alot but usually over 6.00 per day on average.

 

Google AdSense is paying really low since May.
Hopefully it's something temporary.

 

Yep, me too - already asked adsense what was going on but the strange thing is my clicks over the past week have went up considerably although my payout has came down considerably. Adsense didn't say my ads were getting fraudulant clicks therefore I'm guessing that isn't the issue.

My site is taking off big time with thousands of views and hits and I dont intend on giving anyone the satisfaction of cashing in on it after the hard work and effort that's went into it - so google can either get their act together or I'm looking for another pay per click programme - google seem to forget there are alternatives now!

 

My theory:

I recently checked if there were any new ADWORDS features. I guess most of you know that CPC for placement targeted ads are quite in fashion now.
Some advertisers got tired of paying for clicks but no conversions from BEST_WHATEVER_RESULTS.com MFA sites. So a lot of big advertisers are advertising on big sites only and there is less competition on keyword targeted compaigns. Especially as our channels are sometimes better targeted than keyword targeted campaigns.

And less keyword targetes compaigns mean less competition = less CPC for new sites with few placemant targeted ads and sites with few impressions.
( cus advertisers will simply not find all of us )

 

Hrmmm sounds reasonable so what do we do? There must be something short of changing completely to a new publisher provider?

It's time to start TARGET PLACING your adsense ads so advertisers can find you.

Just seems odd that 20 clicks today has paid me 1.68 so far when normally it's over 5.00 to 6.00

 

I think advertisers are spending less at the moment that's why we see the decline in earnings per click

lots of people run their campaigns only from Monday to Friday

Interesting... I got paid THREE TIMES as much today. And the day is not yet over.

And I am not talking about a few cents here; this is three times as much as good money. There MUST be a reason' when you already earn a lot, you don't see a threefold increase FOR NO REASON.

 

Yeah my click price has slumped today also, even my mortgage/finance site that averages 87c per click is only averaging 21c today.

Impressions and clicks normal, click price way down. This for me started about 4 hours before the end of yesterdays stats.

 

Whatever happened, something happened today. Now, some assholes will come and say shit, claiming this kind of threads are posted all the time. As a person who never posted such threads, I fully agree with the poster. Something must be going today. Something that benefits me, but harms others' earnings.

Never have I ever earned this much for this many clicks (earned 3 times more); some special thing started today.

 

yeah, my clicks dropped to 2 cents a click today. How often does this random drop happen for you guys?
