Does promoting a blog differs from promoting a website?

Its all in the title....Please give me some info on how to promoting a blog.
Should i go with social bookmarking or search engine submissions.
What are your experiences?

I see no difference between promoting a blog and a site.

Submit your blog to directories, in order to get backlinks.

Build lots of backlinks. Try to increase your search results ranking. You will get all the traffic that you need from search engines.

Add fresh content in your blog on regular bases.

 

Do what you would do with a regular site. However, the blogging world is much more dynamic and fast than the 'sites' world. So try to read other blogs regularly to keep up.

Im learning fast nowadays and i have fallen into "webmarketing world" very much, if you know what i mean.
Rather than takin a nap, im working on my sites or posting in forums.

But as long as its fun....Im IN!

One main difference - Blogs are easier with all the blog specific sites, increasing demand of blog content and also the power to advertise through RSS feeds.

 

I guess quality comments on popular topic relevant blogs are somewhat important for a blog.

 

Yes I agree. If you can get quality comments for all your posts that would make the blog look busy. Would do the trick

 

According to me seo and bookmarking go hand in hand..so try to do both
