Host to handle massive traffic on joomla?

Is there such a shared host that can handle massive traffic powered by joomla? for example 50k uniques daily. I know it's possible for static content but I don't know if it's possible for dynamic content.

Perhaps you should consider getting a VPS or a Dedicated Server for such a heavy traffic website.

You definitely need a VPS which has RAM around 768-1gig and if that VPS still cant handle your traffic...you may think of buying dedicated server.

But I wont recommend directly jumping to a dedicated, why to spend more when you can get for less ...

I would recommend having at least 1 GB of available RAM (over and above what the system is using at idle). 1k uniques per hour will crash a VPS with 200mB available (over the system).
Try using Joomla 1.5 (1.5.3 is the latest) and enabled caching. Also increase your session limit in global config to over 60 minutes to reduce writes and updates to the session variable.

It is very possible to run dozens of Joomla sites on one dedicated server with high usage, and with some VPS' being almost as powerful as a budget server you shouldn't have an issue.

I agree and vote for dedicated server with at least 1GB RAM - if you wish to provide quality service and wish to avoid losing your users!!

    Cheers

I doubt any host will want that on their shared server. What you need is a decent VPS to suite the attire. If you need help finding a good VPS please let me know and i'll happily help.

    Thanks,
    Ryan
