Well, yeah, follow the rules and they pay you: Break the rules & forfeit the earnings. I've heard a ton of people complain about being banned, but they usually also disregarded the policies because they think they can beat the system.

Anyway, when rule-breakers get kicked out of the system, there's more revenue per click for the people still serving ads. :D

It's obvious that you will be banned only after you have made a tad bit of earnings; how else would they know whether your clicks are invalid? Perhaps it's the odd few hits that can be deemed invalid, but only after scrutinizing your earnings for a given timeframe will they know whether the majority were in actuality deceptive. If this is the case, then it follows that (as tekteker noted) advertisers will be credited for the invalid visits. If you are so dissatisfied with Google’s practices, there are many alternatives out there that may suit you better. It’s a liberated market, and no one is forcing you to remain with any given publisher. Perhaps eliminate those Adsense advertisements on your blog, and the criticisms you conveyed will have more merit in my eyes.

Ahem, Google refunds money to advertisers when they determine click fraud was the source. I haven't used AdWords for a few months, but I recall Google adding a new function last year (or maybe 1.5 years ago) that actually generates invalid click reports for you.

    Cheers!
